
An important part of our acknowledgment of Australia’s proud military history is the commemoration of key events within that history. Frankston RSL key commemorative activities are held at the Cenotaph located at the Frankston Council Chambers in Davey Street Frankston.
Frankston RSL key commemorative activities are:
ANZAC Day - 25th April
Commemorates the landing at Gallipoli on 25th April 1915 - is Australia’s National Day of Remembrance.
Every April Frankston RSL honour April 25th 2011 with two services which are held at the Frankston cenotaph located on the corner of Young & Davey Streets.
Dawn Service commences at 6am followed by Billy’s traditional Gunfire Breakfast.
March & Commemoration Service is held at 11am. The assembly location for those marching is at the Civic Centre car park and all Marchers are to ‘Fall In’ by 10.45am. Approximately 11.30 am the commemoration service begins, and at the conclusion of this a luncheon is held at the Frankston RSL Club Rooms where all Servicemen and their families are invited back to join in the celebrations and entertainment provided. Those attending will enjoy a complimentary buffet lunch.

Vietnam Veterans - ‘Long Tan’ Day - 18th August
Commemorates Australia’s involvement in the Vietnam War and the Battle of Long Tan on 18th August 1966.
‘VP’ Day - 15th August
Commemorates the end of World War 2 on the 15th August 1945.
Remembrance Day - 11th November
Commemorates the end of World War 1 on the 11th November 1918.
Every year Frankston RSL conducts a Memorial and Remembrance Day services at the Frankston Cemetery the Sunday prior to remembrance day along with a service on Remembrance day at the Frankston cenotaph, located on the corner of Young & Davey Streets.
