An Update for our Members & Guests

2021 Members update

We would like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year and hope you all enjoyed a relaxing festive break. It is with anticipation that with the introduction of a vaccine we will see some reduction in the current restrictions and enable us to introduce some of our old activities. The report below outlines the current state of affairs.

COVID Guidelines

Since reopening we have had to operate under the DHHS/GOVT COVID guidelines and this situation does not look like changing for quite a few months. This obviously affects some of our promotional activities that we conducted pre COVID and also effects the number of patrons that we can allow to utilise our facilities. A summary of these restrictions is listed below:-

  • Limited numbers in each room eg Sports Bar 80, Cafe 40, Bistro 100, etc
  • No communal stations eg Gaming Coffee station, Café Water Station, etc
  • Masks are no longer compulsory within the Club, but may be worn if desired
  • Sanitising Stations to be provided
  • Personal details, name/address/phone number, provided at reception
  • Must not enter premises if showing any symptoms
  • Provide COVID Marshalls to assist Members and guests

We do request that all do treat our staff with respect when they are applying or requesting you to adhere to the guidelines.

Promotions & Draws

Because of the guidelines we are not permitted to conduct any of our members promotional activities like Social Raffles, Members Draws, Bistro Meal 2 for 1’s or any major event, because of the numbers these create. We don’t anticipate this changing any time in the near future.

Functions & Club Groups

At our January Committee Meeting there was some discussion had regarding our group activities held in the club and our Pavilion. The outcome of those discussions was that all Pavilion activities will remain on hold until the February meeting, our PARC fitness groups will remain on hold but we will recommence Bingo from Monday Feb 1st.

The current limits on functions remains while we await further information from the DHHS. Small Meetings will be assessed at the February meeting with some hope that these will be approved for the future.

As we wait for final approval for our new kitchen and Food truck the builders have returned from their break and have commenced finishing off all the little things that have arisen over the festive break.

We thank everyone for their patience, particularly in the food area, where our staff have been under pressure dealing with the reopening and restricted operations. With the new Kitchen opening it will allow our team to introduce a range of menu’s across the venue and cook them in an efficient manner. This will include slowly introducing some mid week promotions, lunch specials and sportsbar menu.

There has been a delay with both directional and display signage which is hoped to be completed by late January.

Our 2021 AGM will be held on Sunday March 21st at 10.30am in Simpson 2. More details will be displayed in the coming weeks.

Anzac Day

We believe that restrictions will still be in place for Anzac Day which will provide some challenges, both for the Ceremonies and the celebration at the Club. The Committee will closely follow the Government directives and advise of the details from our end.

Taxi Rank & Disabled Parking

There has been some correspondence from concerned members regarding both a taxi rank and more disabled parking spots. Both are with our architect going through the approval process and should be in place by mid next month.

While 2020 was a particularly tough year for everyone, 2021 is also going to be a little frustrating for probably the first six months of the year, as we will still be under some restrictions. We ask that you all be patient with our staff and each other as this virus gradually comes under control and we can get back to some sort of normality. Don’t forget we are now opening at 9am every day, closing at 11pm Sun – Tues and 1am Wed – Sat.

Look forward to seeing you in our Venue soon

Rob Morrison

General Manager
